Title: Studio Assistant
Contract Duration: Currently Filled - but will take applicants ongoing
Schedule: Saturdays 10-4PM
Location: Our downtown Studio (323 10 AVE SW)
This role is for an emerging floral designer or someone interested in getting into the industry. No experience is necessary but applicants who have worked in a Flowershop ,Floral Studio, Event company, or Restaurant are preferred. You will be assisting in the day to day operations of the Studio which include studio reset and clean up, dried floral arrangements, answering phones and taking orders, organizing deliveries, and occasional wedding/event prep work.
Compensation is $18.00-$20.00/hr
Requirements:
Creative backbone, interest and passion for the floral industry
strong grasp on prioritizing tasks and time management
good level of professionalism and politeness, intermediate english speaking and comprehension skills
ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem solve

Title: Project Manager
Contract Duration: January - June 2025 (training week in October or November) - Filled, next position opening will be June - October 2025
Schedule: Negotiable 10-15 hours per week
Location: Remote, in Studio and on Event locations as needed
Our downtown Studio (323 10 AVE SW) and on Location at Events (Within Calgary, Canmore, Banff)
This role is for a responsible, autonomous, initiative driven and reliable person with management / logistical planning experience in the event industry.
Duties will include:
Managing the email by answering inquiries and all emails promptly, delegating clients to the appropriate Designer for each project
Making sure Designers are on track with their designated projects.
Stakeholder management: Keep in touch with everyone who has a stake in the project – like clients, sponsors, and other managers. Listen to their needs, tackle their concerns, keep them in the loop with regular updates, and answer any questions along the way.
Documentation and reporting: keep detailed records throughout the project
Assisting Designers with material sourcing or rentals while making sure this is prepared in advance in accordance with our project schedule
Dealing with occasional client feedback, positive or negative with patience and professionalism
Sending bills for payment to Owner
Scheduling Staff, Payroll, and freelancers
Sending receipts and invoices to accounting
Weekly status reports to the Owner
Compensation is $28/hr plus mileage and street parking expenses
Requirements:
Management experience, or logistical event planning experience
Floral design knowledge and floral event experience is an asset
Good level of professionalism and politeness, fluent english speaking and comprehension skills
Adaptability and problem-solving. Be able to think on your feet, come up with solutions quickly, and adjust to new challenges to keep things moving smoothly
Emotional intelligence. Ability to understanding and manage emotions, build trust, keep the team motivated, and resolve any issues in a positive way.
Attention to detail. Ability to catch the smallest mistakes to ensure everything is done right and meets all standards.
Decision-making. Ability to weigh options quickly, understand risks, and make smart choices.
Time management. Ability to assist in breaking down big projects into manageable tasks, figuring out how long each task will take, and setting realistic deadlines to make sure everything is completed on time.
Effective communication. ability to keep everyone updated, manage expectations, and smooth over any rough patches with clear, direct talk, and good listening skills
Negotiation and conflict resolution. Being good at finding solutions that work for everyone is a must

Title: Intermediate Designer
Contract Duration: Freelance - Filled
Schedule: Event Set-up days, mostly weekends with occasional week day events (usually a 5-8 hour day, generally 8AM-5PM)
Location: Our downtown Studio (323 10 AVE SW) and occasionally on Location at Events (Within Calgary, Canmore, Banff)
This role is for Intermediate-Senior floral designers with at least 1-2 years of experience working in a Flowershop or Florals Studio with a focus on Weddings and Events. You will be assisting in the day to day operations of the Studio which include making hand tie bouquets and arrangements, studio clean up, answering phones, taking orders, organizing deliveries, and wedding/event prep work.
Ability to reproduce a sample design will be required. Saturdays may include on-site delivery and installation assistance for Weddings and Events.
Compensation is $21-23/hr
Requirements:
1-2 years experience in a flowershop or floral studio with a focus in wedding work
Able to name and identify all common commercial cut flowers
Comfortable making bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres with little guidance
customer service experience, intermediate english speaking and comprehension skills
strong understanding of composition, colour, and basic design principles
Good level of professionalism and politeness is appreciated
ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem solve under pressure

Title: Senior Designer Event Floral Artist
Contract Duration: FREELANCE
Schedule: Weekends
Location: Our downtown Studio (323 10 AVE SW) and on Location at Events (Within Calgary, Canmore, Banff)
This role is for Senior floral designers with at least 2 years of experience working in a Flowershop or Floral Studio with a focus on Weddings and Events. You will be assisting the Studio with loading, delivering, and on-site design and install of events of all shapes and sizes.
Compensation is $28/hr plus mileage and parking expenses
Requirements:
2+ years experience in a flowershop or floral studio with a focus in wedding floral design work
Experience doing client consultations, full service design proposals, leading projects, and ordering
Intermediate english speaking and comprehension skills
Able to name and identify all common commercial cut flowers
Comfortable reproducing a design from a design brief and recipe with no guidance
Must have own vehicle (we can provide insurance if using it to assist in moving flowers)
Can work quickly with sensitivity and intention with fragile perishables
2+ years experience in a flowershop or floral studio with a focus in wedding floral design work
